Betrayal
At nineteen, Rafe Jerry had discovered the woman he adored in bed with another lover— his father. Ordered off the family’s California ranch, he swore never to return and ran away to war. The harsh realities of battle had made
a crack soldier of him, but a traitor in the
ranks had turned him into a man to be feared.
He would not rest until he achieved...
Revenge
Rafe rode for California with two goals— tracking down Laveau di Viere and breaking his father’s will. He would never run Rancho los Alainitos for the beautiful yet treacherous 4 widow; he would not help to raise his vulnerable young half brother; he refused to give in to his longing for Maria de Ia Guerra, the first woman to touch his hardened heart.
But with Lavcau on the attack and all he held most dear at risk, Rafe realized the one thing
he could not fight was...

The freedom of the range, the bawling of the longhorns, the lonesome night watch beneath a vast, starry sky--they got into a woman's blood until she knew there was nothing better than the life of a cowgirl...except the love of a good man.
Lord Davenport
Born and raised on the Broken Circle Ranch, Eden never expected to fall head over heels for the heir to a British earldom. As the youngest of the Maxwell clan, she was used to riding her mustang across the plains, not a carriage through Hyde Park, and she'd sooner have coffee from a chuck wagon than tea in a society drawing room. But there was one thing London offered that was not to be found in all the Lone Star State: A man who captured her heart and thrilled her senses. Now the only challenge was convincing him to try love, Texas style.

And when the devil-may-care cowboy took her in his arms, she understood as never before the pleasures of being a woman.

The bawling of the longhorns, the lonesome night watch beneath a vast, starry sky—they got into a man's blood until he knew there was nothing better than the life of a cowboy...except the love of a good woman.
Bret Nolan had never gotten used to the confines of the city. The sprawling buildings, the rumbling wagons, even the roads: all seemed designed to lock him in. He would always be a cowboy at heart, and his restless blood still longed for the open range. And he was on his way back to the boundless plains of Texas to escort a reluctant heiress to Boston—on his way to pick up a woman destined to be a dutiful wife. But Emily Abercrombie wasn't one to agree to anything easily, and she wasn't about to just up and leave her ranch in Texas to move to an unknown city. And the more time Bret spent with the determined beauty, the more he realized he wanted to be the man—the only man—in Emily's life. Now he just had to show her the true honor found in the heart of a cowboy.

With not one, but two romances going on in THE MAVERICKS, there is a lot
going on in the plot, but before the tale ends, the reader has also been
treated to gunfights, barroom brawls, and a villain bent on causing trouble
for Zeke and Hawk. And it all plays out against the meticulously described
backdrop of the Western frontier. It's obvious the author has a feel for
the time period and setting. It's easy to picture the Arizona desert as well
as the frontier boomtowns of the Old West, and fans of this series or lovers
of historical American West romances will not want to miss THE MAVERICKS.
Sandra Brill, Romance Reviews Today
THE MAVERICKS may have taken a long time to get here but it was definitely
worth the wait. I was so happy to see Hawk and Zeke finally find happiness
and Josie and Suzette were the perfect women to get the job done. Leigh Greenwood
has brought us a series that will be both remembered and cherished for many
years to come and I can't wait to read the next book in
The Cowboys series.
Dina Smith/romancejunkies.com
Hurrah, Leigh Greenwood is back with this exciting series, The Cowboys. THE
MAVERICKS would win the academy on the big screen. From the beginning of the
series I've wondered what the future held for these two misfit protagonists.
There was no need to worry. This genius of an author creates super conflict
then leaves his readers basking in a sea of joy. Make room on your bookshelf
of classics for this author who has definitely earned a place among them. Rendezvous
Fans of the Greenwood's Cowboy series will be delighted with this latest installment.
He delivers an action-packed story filled with tender moments between emotionally
scarred people who surrender to the healing power of love.
Suan Wilson, Fresh Fiction.com
Greenwood has penned a poignant story about how love can help people get
over a horrible past. Each character has his or her own demons to deal
with, and only with each other can they find happiness. It's not easy
to do a two-couple story without one couple taking over, but Greenwood succeeds.

Colorado Territory is no place for a refined woman. At least that's what Colonel Bryce McGregor thinks about Abby Pierce. As far as Bryce is concerned, the city girl from St. Louis should never have left her comfortable lifestyle to brave the wilds of the rugged west. A former general in the Civil War, Bryce's new post overseeing Fort Lookout is a far cry from leading men into battle, and not necessarily an easier one. Keeping the peace between soldiers, civilians and Indians while raising his seven-year-old daughter Pamela is a lesson in leadership and humility. His goal is to fulfill his duties and get back home to Philadelphia where he can raise his daughter in a proper setting while pursuing his career. He doesn't have time for distractions, even if Abby's beauty and determination call to him like a bugle call for morning exercises.
Abby arrives at Fort Lookout with her sister Moriah in tow, determined to make a go of running their deceased father's store at Fort Lookout. Moriah is far more reluctant about their chances than Abby, who has her reasons for fleeing St. Louis for Colorado Territory. She hadn't expected things to be quite so primitive or for the men to be quite so desperate for a woman's attention. She may be a city girl, but she's no shrinking violet. She was raised to believe a woman can take care of herself and she is determined to prove that, whether by shooting a gun or dealing with stolen cattle and unpaid bills. Fending off the soldiers who would ask for her hand in marriage is easy, preventing Bryce and his daughter from working their way into her heart proves to be a far more difficult fight— and one she’s not sure she wants to win.
Leigh Greenwood is a powerhouse of a writer, known for captivating plots that pull the reader into the past and THE INDEPENDENT BRIDE is no exception. With rich historical details and characters that tug at your heartstrings, Greenwood has crafted a fun, romantic read guaranteed to delight long time fans as well as new readers. In fact, as this is a stand-alone book, it would be a terrific introduction to Greenwood’s body of work.
“Leigh Greenwood pens the very best in historical romance
fiction!”
“THE INDEPENDENT BRIDE is a delightfully entertaining read! Leigh Greenwood
is sure to please readers with this sweet gem of a novel!”
“Endearingly romantic! Leigh Greenwood has crafted another fine story!”

Owen Wheeler was the good-looking one, the one who’d always counted on his charm to get by. But the war had changed everything, and Owen was painfully aware that looks could kill as surely as bullets. On the trail of a traitor, he no longer prided himself on his ability to break hearts, especially when the heart belonged to a girl as plain-featured and plain-spoken as Hetta Gwynne. She made it clear to Owen that she had no interest in him, only in winning back her ranch. Besides, he didn’t trust women. His mother had taught him all about what a beautiful woman could do, and he didn’t like any of it. But after tasting Hetta’s surprisingly heated kisses, Owen realized it was his own heart that was in danger of breaking unless he could change her mind.
Hetta had absolutely no interest in handsome men. Having suffered because her irresponsible father had traded on his looks his whole life, Hetta turned her attention to a man so plain, dull, and responsible no one could doubt that his dependability. It didn’t take Hetta long to realize that her heart wasn’t marching to the same drum as her brain. When Owen’s gallantry caused him to force his way into her life, she hadn’t the strength of will to throw him out again. As he proceeded to break down her prejudices, Hetta found she wanted to break down the last barrier herself.

About a year ago my editor told me it was time to start a new series. It wasn’t easy to let go of the Cowboys series, especially since I still had four orphans to go, but I had an idea that had occurred to me several years earlier. I pulled it out, dusted it off, and presented it to my editor. She liked it, and the Night Rider series was born.
The Night Riders were an elite Confederate mounted troop that specialized in night raids. Their targets were primarily ammunition depots, payroll wagons, railroads, or supply trains. They rode in, struck, and rode out on the same night. One of their members betrayed them to the Union, and twenty?four of the thirty?six men were killed. Only eight survived the war. Seven have taken a vow to bring the eighth man, the traitor, to justice. But the traitor is clever, as well as having the protection of the Union Army, and it’s nearly ten years before they bring him to justice.
The first book in the series is TEXAS HOMECOMING. Cade Wheeler’s grandfather owns a Texas ranch. Their neighbor is Laveau diViere, the traitor. Cade brings the men to Texas to help him round up, brand, and take his cattle to market so they can have make enough money to start their lives over again. And to help bring diViere to justice.
But squatters have taken over the diViere ranch, and diViere’s sister and grandmother have taken refuge with Cade’s grandfather. When Senora diViere proposes a marriage between Cade and Pilar, everybody knows its only a subterfuge to get Cade to recapture the diViere ranch. Cade and Pilar each have their own reasons for accepting the proposal, but can their emerging love endure the light of truth?
"Better by far than most Western movie scripts! Powerfully
emotional, writing as expected from an author of this caliber. This reviewer
and thousands of readers will want the other Night Rider’s stories
to follow in short order!"
- Heartland Critiques
The cover is gorgeous, the story is magnificent, the main characters are riveting, and the supporting cast is intriguing enough to make TEXAS HOMECOMING another spellbinding read that will keep you up all night! Yes, it’s that good, and it leaves you clamoring for more.
Leigh Greenwood understands people and their emotions so well they
become real to you when you are reading one of his books. The characters
come smashing, dashing and crashing into your world to make you aware that
you are in hands of a master storyteller of Western Americana bar none.

Undercover Honeymoon

This assignment was the most difficult of nurse Maggie Oliver’s career. In order to save a sick baby, she had to go undercover. And the hardest part was that her cover was a make-believe honeymoon with the man who’d once been her real-life lover. She’d thought she could handle playing at passion with CIA agent Noah Brant. But as they raced to stay one step ahead of the enemy - and save a lost little girl, all alone in the world - she realized how wrong she’d been. His unforgotten raw masculine power and the devastating, unsuspected tenderness he showed that orphaned child made her wish this deadly charade could somehow lead them back to the love they’d lost.
The last thing Noah Brant wanted was to be partnered with an amateur on a job that promised to be ticklish at best, deadly at worst. The next to last thing he wanted was to find himself sharing a bed with Maggie Oliver. She’d walked out on him three years earlier trampling his heart underfoot in the process. But all thoughts of being "over her" vanished when they spent their first night in the honeymoon suite of a New York Hotel. Memories of the nights they’d spent together ? and the unexpected appearance of an orphan who immediately took him as her protection against the world ? taught him that not all lessons learned were the right ones.
“Leigh Greenwood pens another first-class love story replete
with jeopardy, passion, and surprises.”
- Cohen, Romantic Times
